Long Weekend # 1

Well today is Friday, and I have the day off. I also had yesterday off, and the weekend starts tomorrow. Did I mention I love Reims?

I have had a productive end to what was my first week of class. I have worked a few more things out with the bank, discovered my new favourite sandwich place downtown, gone to the post office to get stamps, gotten an envelope for my Carte de Séjour application, set up an appointment for said application, found 2 kitchen-type stores, and settled my electricity bill. I also made a second trip to the Costco-like place to finish out my groceries for the next 5 days or so.

It was brought to my attention that I forgot to mention a fairly important part of my orientation in the related posts. As part of this orientation, I got to tour the Pommery Champagne cellar, and enjoy a tasting of last year's champagne. This was an enjoyable experience, and I will hopefully be having more champagne in the near future. Might get a huge bottle of Dom Perrignon form the Pervis store to keep in my room. Or, I could save 290 Euro and do something else. We'll see.

Now for a bit of sad news. As I sit here bored on my day off, waiting for dinnertime and my subsequent bar-hopping night with some friends from my residence, I realized for the first time that I really miss my guitar. It's just not the same listening to Dream Theater or Liquid Tension Experiment or Avenged Sevenfold without it. Oh well. Only 38 weeks left til I see it again.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend, I'm off to cook some steak, and probably some sort of vegetables too. Happy eating!
